pastor brad mcclain
Brad McClain is originally from Montgomery, Alabama and grew up in the cattle business. His father, Paul McClain, was an order buyer who shipped cattle all over the country and had a large yearling operation. Brad grew up on horseback doing cowboy work on the ranch. His experience includes the care of pasture cattle, roping, and working with young horses. Later, Brad graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth (B.A.) and for a time had a business selling livestock supplements in the Waco area. It was in Texas that Brad felt a strong calling into the ministry and into seminary. Brad graduated from Emory University with a M.Div. (Magna Cum Laude) and was ordained as a Methodist pastor.
For over 30 years, Brad served as a church-planter, conference evangelist, consultant, retreat leader, associate pastor and founding pastor in his southern home of Alabama. In 2021, Brad moved back to Texas and is currently the pastor here at Stagecoach Cowboy Church in Waxahachie.
Brad launched God’s Horseback Gospel as a Facebook outreach that posts scripture and a brief prayer daily, accompanied by western art and photography. It has a growing audience of followers. Brad began writing inspirational cowboy poetry in 2014. He has one book available on Amazon published by Wild Horse Press, “Horseback Gospel Poems and Prayers,” and frequently posts additional poetry on the Facebook page. His work has also appeared on cowboypoetry.com. In addition to full-time Christian ministry, Brad is a member of the SLE Rodeo in Montgomery.
Pastor McClain is married to Stacey, a Texas native. Between them, they have 9 children and 19 grandchildren.
